The farms of Vargamäe, Mäe and Oru, have been in conflict since the youth of the old masters. Although now both farms are managed by the younger generation, the old grudge has not disappeared. The old masters cannot make peace with each other even in their twilight years, and the issue of the heir to the Oru farm fuels the hostility. The old folks of Vargamäe are convinced that a man may die, but the land remains. Meanwhile, the young of Vargamäe are still toiling away with work, life, and love, just like in the old days. One of them hopes to find redemption for a misguided life in the hard work of Vargamäe's swamps and fields – a voluntary forced labor. One year passes and another follows, people come, change, and go, but Vargamäe endures.

The film is based on the fifth part of A.H. Tammsaare's novel "Truth and Justice". The film was completed in early 2024. Directed by Ingrid Ulst, written by Tarmo Kruus and Ingrid Ulst, sound operator Hanno Teppo, starring Meelis Vahtramäe, Marek Ranne, Aivar Natus, Merike Torm, Liivia Vaas, Heiki Lill, Mikk Sügis, Diana Tuul, Kent Joosep, Doris Pavlov, Imbi Pallo, Rane Arumets, Johanna Johanson, Timo Kikas, Martin Tiideberg, Helin Vill.
