PÖFF30 | Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival | 6-22 november 2026 | Cinema Artis
Kasia (Monika Kwiatkowska) earns a living by breaking into flats with her boyfriend. During one of their break-ins, she stumbles upon the home of a recently deceased man and begins to pose as his partner. Over time, however, she becomes increasingly curious about who he was. As she learns more about his life, his loved ones, and his past, she begins to imagine leading a different life, and finds the strength to start afresh.
“What Belongs to Others” is a story about how far apart we, as human beings, can drift from one another – so far that sometimes only a lie, and pretending to be someone we are not, can make others see us as human again.
The film premiered in the Orizzonti competition programme at the Venice Film Festival.
